Leadership Training for Secondary Schools
The Foundation’s leadership training for secondary schools targeting grade twelve students commenced in 2018 at Kikori Secondary School. In 2019, the training was delivered to Kikori and Tari Secondary Schools, with the support of the Gulf and Hela Provincial Education Boards, and in partnership with The Voice Inc., a youth development organization that runs leadership programs for students in PNG. Hosted over three to four days, the program is aimed at enhancing the leadership capacity of grade 12 students by providing them essential skills to influence and motivate positive change in their communities and home - both now and into the future. The program was well received by schools and participants, who provided positive feedbacks on how the program has equipped and encouraged participants to practice good leadership values into the future. This program will continue in selected secondary schools in Oil Search’s project area.
Women on Leadership and Management
OSF is supporting professional women to enhance their leadership skills by providing them an opportunity to attend courses designed specifically for women in Papua New Guinea.
This program has the potential to equip women with essential leadership skills to complement their roles and drive positive change in their
work places and communities.
The Foundation started this initiative in 2019,
by supporting two women in leadership roles,
one from Pimaga Rural Hospital in Southern Highlands, and one from Hela Provincial Health Authority in Hela, to undergo a 6-month long Women in Leadership and Management course. The course will be delivered by Business
Coalition for Women in partnership with
Wings Education PNG.
