OUTREACH PATROLS IN SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS
A team of 15 health workers took part in this patrol - teams vaccinated 171 children administering 556 vaccinations over two days
In the remote Foroba mountains, on the border of Southern Highlands and Gulf Provinces, the fourth outreach patrol in nine months was conducted in June visiting nine villages over four days; eight in Gulf Province and four in Southern Highlands. A team of 15 health workers from Provincial Health teams, the Foundation, Gulf Christian Services, Kikori Catholic Health Services, and Marie Stopes PNG provided services over two days.
They vaccinated 171 children administering 556 vaccinations. Antenatal care was provided to 18 women, ten people were screened for TB with two suspected TB cases identified and one diagnosed case of leprosy.
