The delivery of health services in Hela Province was given a huge boost last week when the Hela Provincial Health Authority (Hela PHA) and Oil Search Foundation (OSF) signed an agreement that consolidates the already strong partnership to improve service delivery.

OSF Executive Director, Stephanie Copus-Campbell, who signed the agreement with Hela PHA Deputy Chairman Rev. Olene Yawai, said it covers everything the Foundation is doing to deliver health services in Hela.

“We are proud of the strong relationship with the Hela Provincial Health Authority and excited about the

opportunity our support brings to continue to make a difference,” she said.

“This agreement symbolises the Foundation’s key principles which include working in partnership through PNG government systems to deliver results.”

Rev Yawai was appreciative of OSF’s assistance in Hela saying; “We thank the Oil Search Foundation for focusing on our highest priorities – strong governance, financial accountability, a skilled workforce, ensuring good infrastructure with drugs and equipment and providing a safe environment for patients and staff –

all of which lead to better health outcomes for our people.”

Under the agreement the Foundation will, among other things, help strengthen management systems, fund the engagement of critical medical staff, improve pharmaceutical supply and distribution, support financial management improvements and deliver key capital works projects.

OSF will also provide funding support for the Family Support Centre and work with the Hela PHA to identify other sources of donor funding to implement the PHA’s corporate plan and strategic implementation plan.

  1. Oil Search Limited. A true PNG entity that not only takes from PNG but very committed to the development of this country and ensuring it is sustainable for the GoPNG and it’s people. THANK YOU OIL SEARCH FOUNDATION.

    1. Oil Search is a multi-national company that truly not focus on the higher level commitment for development but it make sure provide basic services in the community level where GoPNG cannot. As a lay person, I see Oil Search has improved the lives of many Papua New Guineans and so far made greater impact in the country. A truly serving company in the world. I would try my best to work with the oil search after completing my bachelor degree in 2017 to ensure I can do best to boost the services it is providing to the 8million plus population of PNG. My acknowledgement to the serving company in the world, The Oil Search Limited.
